FBR sacks 160 contract based employees of Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has dismissed as many as 160 employees of Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL) on showing poor performance after maturity of their contract.

As per details, sacked employees were performing their duties at FBR’ desks in National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to facilitate the public in generating PSID numbers. Now, FBR has deployed its regular staff at these places which was trained in this regard during January, 2015.

Talking to Customs Today, Secretary Information Technology, Zainul Abideen said that FBR has not extended the contract of employees those have been poor in their performance during the tenure of contract.

He added that department also warned them to do their work honestly following the complaints of public against them, but they remained reluctant to follow the instructions of department.

It is important to mention here that these employees also moved the court months ago, when FBR started training of its regular staff for generating PSID number, and got stay order against their dismissal.

Secretary Zain said that department has now fired them after the completion of their contract. FBR has deputed its staff to help the people at NBP and SBP despite the fact it is the responsibility of the public to generate its own number.
