FBR forms 13 special teams to bring 23,000 traders under tax net

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that 23,000 traders will be brought under tax net in Gujranwala region. At least 13 special teams have been formed with special task to focus on the trade organisations in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts, besides checking the official record from local revenue and excise and taxation departments to broaden the tax net.

According to the senior FBR officials, the FBR has given a special task to Gujranwala Regional Tax Directorate to bring 11,000 local traders under the tax net in Gujranwala and Hafizabad districts. The Sialkot Regional Tax Directorate has been asked to bring 10,200 traders under the tax net from Sialkot, Narowal and Gujrat districts, besides bringing 1,800 traders under tax net from Mandi Bahauddin district.

The 13 special teams, with special monthly targets, are visiting the local trade bodies for motivating the traders to come under the tax net by briefing them about the FBR’s policies and incentives.

According to senior FBR officials, the people who had purchased and sold their vehicles besides purchasing and selling commercial and residential plots in the new housing colonies would also be brought under the tax net.
