FBR forms team to assist ECP for scrutiny of papers

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has deputed eight members team under the supervision of Tanveer Akhtar to assist Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the scrutiny of candidates.

According to official sources, Broadening of Tax Base Director General Tanveer Akhtar will lead the eight-member team and will ensure to timely complete the scrutiny of the candidates who taking part in the general election 2018.

The time frame for the scrutiny is before June 30 2018, while the team is hopeful to complete the scrutiny prior to the specified time frame.

It is also learnt that election nomination form has inquired at least 37 types of financial information including foreign bank accounts, moveable and immoveable properties, other assets and offshore companies holding by the candidate.

It is important to mention here that earlier Election Commission of Pakistan has called Federal Board of Revenue in order to timely finalize the scrutiny of candidates. In the meeting it was decided that FBR will depute a team to assist the ECP for early finalization of scrutiny of the candidate.
