ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the deadline for filing Sales Tax and Federal Excise Duty (FED) returns for August 2026 until September 25, 2026, for all sales taxpayers.
According to the official, the extension applies only to taxpayers who have deposited their due sales tax liability within the original due date.
In instructions issued to field formations on Saturday, the FBR said the extension was granted under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005.
