Bangladesh frozen food exporters seek tax cut in upcoming budget

FBR grants ST exemption to M/s Shell Petroleum, M/s Attock Petroleum for one year

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) facilitated M/s Shell Petroleum and M/s Attock Petroleum with zero sales tax for providing furnace and diesel oil to M/s US Danim Mills (Pvt.) Ltd, this facility will be valid for one year it is learnt here.

FBR sources told Customs Today that the FBR has issued Amended Sales Tax General Order (STGO) in this regard, according to the General Order that zero sales tax will be imposed for one year on M/s Attock Petroleum while providing 100 metric ton/month of furnace oil and 30,000 metric ton/month of diesel oil to M/s US Danim Mills (Pvt.) Ltd.

Meanwhile zero sales tax will be imposed on M/s Shell Petroleum valid for one year for providing 31.07 metric ton/month of furnace oil and 26,000 metric ton/month of diesel oil to M/s US Danim Mills (Pvt) Ltd.

Moreover, the zero sales tax facility will be only effective for the installed boilers and generator against the declared manufacturing sources added.

Meanwhile the said mills have to provide the zero rated furnace and diesel oil statement on monthly basis in order to halt the misuse of zero rating facility while the Chief Commissioner Large Taxpayer Unit Lahore will regularly monitor sources added.
