FBR holds tax filing training session for Marriott Hotel staff

ISLAMABAD: After the directives of FBR Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial and under the supervision of the Member Taxpayers’ Facilitation (TPS) Wing, the Federal Board of Revenue organised an interactive awareness session on Income Tax Return filing at Marriott Hotel Islamabad as part of its ongoing Tax Awareness Outreach Activity.

The session was led by Secretary Tax Education & Facilitation Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz, accompanied by Second Secretary Tax Facilitation Abdul Rehman and other TPS officials. Senior management and employees of Marriott Hotel Islamabad, including Director Finance Arif Zunairi, finance department staff and various department heads, were present, while Marriott Hotel Karachi staff joined via video link.

In his opening remarks, Mumtaz explained the significance of tax compliance, the benefits of timely filing and FBR’s recent facilitation initiatives. He underlined the hotel industry’s contribution to national revenue and praised Marriott’s proactive approach in educating its workforce on tax responsibilities.

The TPS team provided a step-by-step demonstration of the tax return filing process, addressed common errors and conducted an interactive Q&A session to clarify procedural and legal aspects. Marriott’s management appreciated FBR’s continued efforts to promote tax awareness and emphasised the value of such sessions for improving compliance and staff capacity building. The TPS Wing reaffirmed its commitment to expanding outreach and strengthening taxpayer facilitation.
