LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has impounded land cruiser of Pakistan’s long-serving captain, Misbah-ul-Haq on non-payment of taxes and duty.

FBR officials said on Monday that they had confiscated Misbah’s land cruiser because as per their records he had not cleared the customs duty and taxers applicable on the vehicle.

Last year in October, the FBR had frozen the bank account of Misbah for non-payment of taxes amounting to 3.9 million rupees.

The matter was resolved after the Pakistan test captain met with the Federal minister for finance, Ishaq Dar in Islamabad along with some other players who were facing problems with the FBR.

Sources said that the FBR seized Misbah’s land cruiser after serving a prompt notice that he had to clear all duties and taxes with penalty to reclaim it back, however, Misbah denied any such action.

The senior batsman is presently preparing for the forthcoming Sri Lanka tour where three tests would be played at the National cricket academy in Lahore.
