FBR introduces ADRP to bring domestic resources under tax net

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced Automated Domestic Resource Mobilization Program (ADRP) with the aim to bring the domestic resources in the tax net, it is learnt here.

Official sources told Customs Today that the board with the collaboration of World Bank (WB) launched Automated Domestic Resource Mobilization Program based on Information Communication Technology for the purpose to carry out comprehensive reforms and bring domestic resources of the country in the tax net. The program will also facilitate the board in audit and enforcement of tax policy on the utilized domestic resources, sources confirmed.

Source also told that WB will also provide training to the FRB officials under this program to enhance capacity of the officials regarding domestic resource mobilization.

Under this program, different advance tax-related softwares will also be introduced for the tax deducting and auditing. While the basic aim of this program is to induct more domestic resources in the tax net, avoid tax evasion and collect taxes through ICT, sources confirmed.

It is important to mention here that FBR is working on to bring improvement in tax collection by broadening tax base and improving tax administration capacity for finding ways to overcome or avoid any obstacles to tax reforms.
