FBR investigates more than 100 ‘corrupt’ officials

ISLAMABAD: Investigations are under against more than 100 officers of FBR for corruption, violation of departmental rules and regulations, negligence of official duties and misuse of authority. Member Admin FBR Shahid Hussain Jatoi and Chief Management FBR Dr Bashirullah are taking ahead probe against these officials after getting complaints and documented evidences against them.

According to sources, these include grade 17-20 officers of Customs and Inland Revenue and are working in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Multan, Peshawar and RTOs of other cities while some of them are stopped from performing their duties. Sources said that decision against almost 20 officers is expected in November while final decision against others will be taken by end of this year.
