FBR issues notices to 5,000 tax defaulters

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued tax notices to 5,000 tax defaulters. In the notices, the FBR has advised them to clear their outstanding taxes until March 22.

Commissioner Inland Revenue Asif Mumtaz told Customs Today that FBR finalized a list of 10,000 tax defaulters in February. Now FBR issued tax notices to 5,000 tax defaulters.If they are failed to submit tax returns, a stern action will be taken against them.

He said  that remaining 5,000 notices would be issued in the last week of March in which they would be allowed to clear their pending taxes until April 18 to avoid further action. He said that FBR has warned the tax defaulters to pay taxes at the earliest.
