FBR issues notices to 46 officials of NAB Multan

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) has issued tax notices to 46 officials of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials including director, deputy director and others, asking them to file their income tax returns.

Sources told Customs Today that the Regional Tax Office issued income tax notices to 46 different officials of National Accountability Bureau working in Multan. Tax authorities of Regional Tax Office observed that NAB officials are not filing their income tax returns regularly. Regional Tax Office Multan has finalized lists of NAB officials who are not filing their income tax returns and these NAB Officials of Multan Office were issued several tax notices for the filing of their income taxes. But National Accountability Bureau has not responded on any notice and said officials were informed by tax authorities for the payment of their due taxes.

The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office Multan has also informed Director General National Accountability Bureau Ateeq-ur-Rehman about actual situation of income tax returns filed by officials and they were requested to cooperate with tax authorities.

Director General National Accountability Bureau has also ensured tax authorities of Regional Tax Office Multan for the filing of income tax returns as soon as possible. NAB officials were given two weeks of deadline for the filing of their income tax returns. Director NAB Abdul Hafeez Khan, Additional Directors Mumtaz Bajwa, Muhammad Ilyas Qamar Deputy Directors Khalid Mehmood, Azhar Iqbal Bhatti, Malik Waleed Ahmad, Qaiser Mehmood, Muhammad Shahid, Abdul Razzaq, Muhammad Saleem Chandio, Syed Mehar Ali Gillani, Mohsin Haroon along with 46 officials have not filed their tax returns.
