FBR issues notifications of deaths of five tax officials

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued notifications of deaths of five tax officials during the last 2-3 days.

The notifications, however, do not specify the cause of deaths, but the tax machinery is very much worried over the sudden deaths of tax officials one after the other, in the midst of nationwide coronavirus outbreak.

At the same time, the field formations are also concerned over the FBR’s instructions that the Large Taxpayer Units (LTUs), Corporate Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) would remain open on Saturdays from June 6 to June 30, 2020 for achievement of assigned target of Rs415.5 billion for June 2020.

According to a notification No 0946-IR-II/2020, the government announces with deep regret the sad demise of Islahud Din Khan, Assistant Commissioner (IRS/BS-17) Regional Tax Office, Quetta on 04-06-2020.

At the time of his death, the officer was posted as Assistant Commissioner (IRS/BS-17) Regional Tax Office, Quetta.

Under notification No 0936-C-IV/2020, the government announces with deep regret, the sad demise of Masood Saeed Chohan, a BS-16 officer of Customs Department on 11.05.2020. At the time of his death, the officer was posted as inspector, Model Customs Collectorate, Islamabad.

As per notification No 0939-IR-III/2020, the government announces with deep regret the sad demise of Khawar Mansoor, senior auditor (BS-16), Regional Tax Office, Faisalabad on 02.06.2020.

At the time of his death, the officer was posted as senior auditor (BS-16), Regional Tax Office, Faisalabad.

According to a notification No 0880-C-III/2020, the government announces with deep regret the sad demise of Naushad Ali, appraising officer (BS-16) of Customs Department, on 11.05.2020.
