KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is currently facing shortage of Central Superior Services (CSS) officers in the field formations across the country, as various officials have been given additional tasks.
According to the details, the officials are working diligently for increasing the tax collections and expedite the process of recovery. However; the shortage of Grade 20 and 21 officers in Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) is posing negative impact on routine affairs.
Currently, Customs Appraisement-West Collector Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi is also handling the matters of Directorate of Reforms and Automation as director, while Customs Exports Dr Saifuddin Junejo is working with an additional charge of Customs Preventive.
Similarly, Input Output Co-efficient Organization (IOCO) Director Shahnaz Maqbool is also looking after the office affairs of Customs Internal Audit.
Officials informed Customs Today that the FBR authorities concerned are well aware of the shortage of top staff in Pakistan Customs Services (PCS), adding that every department of customs has its own importance; therefore, top officials should be appointed as soon as possible to yield desired results.
