ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has started a crackdown against the import of used trucks in the garb of sprinkle spraying lorries to save the national kitty from undue losses.
The Customs authorities have already imposed strict conditions on import of used trucks in the garb of sprinkle lorries as some importers misused the facility by importing the vehicles and later converted it to dumping truck by detaching certain parts of sprinkle lorries
Officials said that import of used trucks is banned in Pakistan as per the Import Policy Order.
They also added that FBR has also initiated investigations against the construction companies who had been importing trucks more than their requirement.
