FBR launches drive to identify high risk plazas, shopping malls & chain of luxury apartments

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched countrywide exercise wherein high risk plazas, shopping malls, residential towers and chain of luxury apartments are being identified.

According to FBR sources, thousands of unregistered cases have been identified and likewise massive concealment in the cases of existing taxpayers has been unearthed. Sources said that actions are also underway in respect of Panama Leaks, Paradise and Dubai properties cases.

Federal Board of Revenue obtained actionable information from sources which were sent to field formations for legal proceedings in accordance with law.

FBR also uploaded list of 150 individuals having links with Panama and Paradise leaks on its website and requested people to provide any relevant information about these individuals.

Sources informed that tax heaven countries were also approached through ministry of foreign affairs for obtaining detailed information. Federal Board of Revenue has also taken up the cases of Pakistanis having property in Dubai.
