ISLAMABAD: Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) Chairman Javid Iqbal on Friday stated that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) needed to allow appointment of more members technical as per the requisition forwarded to the board in recent days.
In a summary, the tribunal had, through the Ministry of Law and Justice, sought appointment of around 12 new members technical. However, the board had appointed 5 to 6 members only.
The chairman of the tribunal stated that the matter was being addressed by the Ministry of Law and Justice and other authorities in board and would be resolved in coming days with the appointment of desired numbers of members.
The members required to run tribunal’s affairs smoothly would be deputed at different offices of the tribunal across Pakistan.
