KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is likely to appoint Tariq Huda as Members Customs (Operations) after consent developed between the Board and the Revenue Division. He is presently posted at Ministry of Commerce.

Sources said that the Establishment Division will transfer Tariq Huda to FBR from Ministry of Commerce, and then FBR will issue the notification of his appointment as Member Customs (Operations).

Tariq Huda is a Pakistan Customs Service (PCS) officer having vast experience of both Appraisement and Enforcement. During his tenure as Collector MCC Preventive Karachi, Huda introduced several reforms and made significant achievements against smuggling.

An official said appointment of Tariq Huda as Member Customs (Operations) would give a boost to the ongoing anti-smuggling drive.
