Member Customs Nasir urges staff to expedite recovery of tax revenues

ISLAMABAD: Member Customs, Federal Board of Revenue, Nasir Masroor Ahmed has lauded the efforts of Pakistan Custom services for revenue collection. He advised the staffers to expedite the recoveries of tax revenues and actively pursue the cases pending in courts.

Addressing the collectors’ conference at the Federal Board of Revenue, he said the customs has showed tremendous performance for revenue collection in last year. ‘Now we need the same spirit and efforts’, he maintained. It is not only in favour of the FBR but also in the interest of our country, he remarked.

He said the customs officials act on guidelines provided by the Federal Board of Revenue for increase in revenue, so we should adopt strict measures at all seaports, airports and dry ports for stopping the leakage in tax and duties collections. He expressed the hope that this year customs performance will be much better than before in terms of revenue collections.

The role of Pakistan Customs, in terms of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, shall increase, he added. He assured the customs officers of providing all possible resources to tackle the challenges.
