FBR nominates Dr Asim as new chairman of recruitment body

MULTAN: The recruitment committee chairman of the Regional Tax Office has been changed allegedly due to political pressure, sources said.

Sources claimd that Commissioner Regional Tax Office Yasir Khan was heading the recruitment committee along with other members Abid Gulshan and Sarwar Hussain for the appointment of fresh blood in the Federal Board of Revenue. However, Commissioner Yasir Ali Khan faced immense pressure from politicians to appoint the candidates of their choice.

During the recruitment process, the commissioner was forced to recruit the selected candidates but he refused to accept the pressure. The Federal Board of Revenue has issued a new notification for the formation of the recruitment committee for the hiring of upper division clerks, lower division clerks and naib qasids. Almost 100 candidates are called for interviews on daily basis. More than 3,000 candidates have applied for about 100 positions in the department.

Commissioner Human Resource has nominated Dr Asim as the new chairman for the recruitment of new employees.
