FBR not to give membership of its foundation to tax-non-filer employees

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has decided that tax non-filer officers and employees of the FBR cannot be the members of the FBR Foundation and directed that all the non-filers should file their tax returns. According to the FBR sources, it has been revealed during the campaign for the membership of the Federal Board of Revenue that Foundation’s several employees of lower grade, working in the field formations, are non-filers.

Most of them are Inland Revenue Officers, Inspectors, Senior Auditors, Office Superintendents, Steno Typists, Upper Division Clerks, Drivers, Naib Qasids and Chowkidars.

The FBR scrutinized the membership forms and issued the instructions to file their tax-returns otherwise their FBR Foundation’s membership will remain suspended. On the directions of the FBR, the field formations have also appointed the coordinators for resolving the matter.

The list of the tax non-filers has been put on the notice board.
