ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a notification for the creation of the Customs Command Fund aimed at strengthening anti-smuggling efforts across the country.
According to the FBR, individuals who provide credible information about smuggled goods will be eligible for advance payments, with compensation of up to Rs 500,000. The fund will also cover expenses related to anti-smuggling operations.
In addition, the fund will be used to reward customs officers involved in successful anti-smuggling actions, offering special incentives to enhance operational performance.
Earlier, in an urgent and decisive move to accelerate tax revenue generation, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued fresh directives to its nationwide tax offices, ordering extended enforcement operations and late-night sittings on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
This measure signals a significant intensification of efforts to meet the country’s ambitious collection targets as the fiscal year draws to a close.
