FBR officials show concerns over freeze of performance allowance ratio

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Finance has locked the ratio of performance allowance at the current rate for the officials of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), as earlier it was directly proportion to the basic salary.

As per details, the FBR employees were given performance allowance equal to the basic salary and with increase in salary, it was also increased at the same rate.

Talking to Customs Today, FBR officers and employees showed concerns over the decision, besides terming the decision as injustice. They added, “We collect billions of rupees in wake of taxes by doing untiring efforts for the national exchequer and to run the state affairs and in response we are being deprived of the performance allowance.”

The officials said that such discouraging steps will affect the performance of the employees as they are in state of shock after encountering this sad news. They demanded the government to withdraw the decision to get the employees on right track.

On the other hand, officials in Finance ministry informed Customs Today that govt has taken this decision in federal budget to freeze the ratio of performance allowance, adding that it was quite difficult that ministry withdraw its decision.
