FBR orders special audit of Gujranwala division LGs

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has ordered special audit of all local governments (LGs) and registration branches in Gujranwala division, after receiving various complaints of financial irregularities and funds embezzlement.

According to FBR senior officials, there were three municipal corporations in Sialkot, Gujrat and Gujranwala cities, six district councils in all six districts including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala, 26 municipal committees in 26 tehsils and 18 registration branches as well.
