FBR orders special early audit of LB institutions in Gujranwala’s districts

SIALKOT: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued the orders of special early audit of all the local bodies institutions and the registration branches in Gujranwala Division’s all the five districts including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaud Din, Hafizabad and Gujranwala with immediate effect.

According to the senior FBR officials, the special teams of the FBR would start the special audit of the Municipal Corporations of Sialkot, Gujrat and Gujranwala, six district councils, 26 Municipal Committees and 18 registration branches in Gujranwala Division soon.

The officials added that the FBR teams would take all the official records of all the development schemes, services and supplies to conduct audit there besides checking the deduction of the taxes as per their rules and regulations.

The FBR officials added that the FBR had received a secret information that these Local Bodies are deducting the With Holding Tax on all the development schemes, services and supplies as per old five percent ratio against the new fixed official ratio of With Holding Tax imposed by the FBR in this regard.
