LAHORE: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) is regularly paying taxes of Rs 6.3 billion annually to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Contradicting a statement appearing in a section of the press, Fesco spokesman Tahir Sheikh told media persons that the FBR had imposed tax on the subsidy provided to the general public and against this levy, the Fesco had got a stay order from court.
Some elements are spreading rumours against Fesco only for their nefarious designs, the spokesman said and warned such elements to avoid making negative propaganda. Otherwise, Fesco will take legal action against them, he said.
