KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is planning to have a well-equipped separate force namely anti-smuggling force to ensure prompt and round-the-clock action against smuggling bids, it is learnt.
In order to materialise the plan, FBR authorities are holding regular meetings with the Ministry of Interior and it is expected that the announcement to this effect would soon be made public, official sources told Customs Today.
Presently, the Directorate of Customs Intelligence is used to seek support from the local police, Rangers as the present sepoys are not that much trained, sources added.
According to sources, the Ministry of Interior has almost finalised the documentation and the move would ensure 100 percent stoppage of all kinds of smuggling in the country.
