KARACHI: To eliminate sales tax evasion, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has made it mandatory to declare the weight of items in suppliers’ invoices.
Officials told Customs Today that FBR has earlier enforced the decision regarding the mentioning of HS code of the items on the invoices, which has limited the use of flying invoices.
They added that now suppliers and purchasers with mutual understanding have started using another approach by declaring less weight of the consignment to avoid sales tax. The officials added that the FBR was striving to control such illegal activities in the larger interest of the country.
