FBR prepares list of KP doctors with assets beyond means

PESHAWAR: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has prepared a list of over 100 doctors from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) who possess assets more than their income, Dunya News reported on Thursday.

According to the FBR, there are more than 100 physicians from Abbottabad, Bannu, Mardan and other districts whose tax returns are less than their income. Notices have been served to these doctors and they will be scrutinized after audit.

The revenue board further told that there are thousands of doctors who do not give taxes, and ensured that stepwise action will be taken against all.

On the other hand, the people of Peshawar have appreciated the step taken by the FBR and demanded strict punishments for the offenders.
