LAHORE: The officials of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) raided the shop of a close relative of the prime minister, Butt Sweets, which is situated at Laxmi Chowk.
Sources told Customs Today that Butt Sweets is involved in tax evasion of Rs 49.8 million. Sources said that the tax authorities issued them many notices to clear their outstanding tax amount but they failed to clear the pending amount. Butt Sweets also failed to submit their tax returns from 2014 to 2016.
During the raid, the FBR authorities seized all the sale record and cash of the shop. Further proceedings are underway.
