KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has received a number of complaints regarding the fake online tax notices, Customs Today has learnt.
A number of complaints have been filed with the FBR by taxpayers about online fake tax notices by unknown persons. According to the sources, the persons are sending online fake tax notices to taxpayers, asking them to provide their bank accounts and other related details including passwords. After receiving such notices, the taxpayers in reply are providing the bank details as a result a large number of taxpayers have lost much of the amount from their bank accounts.
According to the sources, the FBR authorities have deep concerns regarding this problem and are doing arrangements to overcome this problem.
