FBR recovers Rs1.765m from MDA after attaching bank accounts

MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO) has attached the bank accounts of Multan Development Authority (MDA) and recovered Rs1.765 million on account of outstanding taxes.

According to details, RTO accelerated their tax drive against defaulters to meet the assigned revenue collection task of March in the ongoing fiscal year 2018-19.

The Federal Board of Revenue has started freezing bank accounts of defaulting individuals as well as government departments for the recovery of their due taxes.

Sources told that RTO initiated strict action against defaulters and seized the bank account of MDA for recovery of outstanding amount. The RTO has issued several notices to Multan Development Authority for the payment of their withholding taxes.

Multan Development Authority has overlooked the issued tax notices from Regional Tax Office Multan and then RTO team asked several times and they attached the official bank account of Multan Development Authority after issuance of final tax notice for the recovery of outstanding tax amount.

Deputy Director Multan Development Authority has deposited Rs1.765 million to RTO after freezing of bank account and submitted cheque number 71028289 to tax authority.
