FBR recovers Rs191b from WAPDA after attaching bank accounts

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) has recovered Rs1910 billion from  WAPDA after attaching its bank accounts.

Sources told Customs Today, that the recovered amount was pending against WAPDA from Fiscal Year 2010 to 2014 as WAPDA failed to clear this outstanding amount. Sources said that FBR issued many notices to WAPDA asking them to clear their outstanding dues on priority basis but they failed to clear the amount.

After their failure FBR’s LTU finally take action and freeze the bank accounts of WAPDA and recovered the above mentioned amount from them.

It is pertinent to mention here that FBR is using all available resources to collect taxes and outstanding dues from defaulters. FBR teams are working round the clock to recover tax, duties.
