FBR asks Finance Ministry to approve BPS-17 for superintendents, principal appraisers

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has requested the Finance Ministry to approve BPS-17 scale for the Customs superintendent, superintendent preventive and principal appraisers in the Customs Department.

According to sources, the FBR has sent the proposal to the Finance Division to consider and approve it on the analogy of the same benefit already allowed to the superintendents of ministerial cadre in ministries, divisions and departments.

Sources added that the FBR has already submitted a proposal to the Establishment Division for up-gradation of superintendents from BPS-16 to BPS-17 of the Customs Department. And Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue has proposed that the FBR could request the Finance Division in this regard.

Sources also added that now the FBR requested the Finance Division for approval.
