FBR revises SOPs for sales tax & FEDs returns

MULTAN: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has revised standard operating procedure (SOP) for sales tax and federal excise duty returns in case of any mistake at the time of filing returns.

Commissioner Regional Tax Office Inland Revenue Corporate Zone has requested PRAL regarding revision of sales tax and federal excise duty returns.

The Federal Board of Revenue has devised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for revision of sales tax & federal excise duty returns through C No1 (25)/ST&FE/LP&E/ Misc/2019/97376-R. The recommendations forwarded by the concerned Commissioner Inland Revenue to General Manager (PRAL) were revised. Chief Manager PRAL (Inland Revenue and Customs Operations) has changed the Standard Operating Procedure to resolve grievances of taxpayers. Taxpayers were facing issues in rectifying mistakes occurred at the time of filing their returns.

Now the sales tax returns will be automatically available for revision of just after approval of the concerned Commissioner in the system. Once concerned commissioner will approve the revision request in the system and after revision of sales tax standard operating procedure taxpayer will need to click on revise button and the tax returns will be in preparing mode.

The Federal Board of Revenue has directed field formations in the country to proceeded applications seeking Sales Tax & Federal Excise Return in accordance with the law and procedure as provided in the system.
