FBR RTO-II achieves 97 percent of target

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office (RTO-II) has achieved almost 97 percent of the assigned target of Rs 1.46 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.

As per details, the RTO-II collected Rs 1.41 billion during July-September. A source told Customs Today that the RTO-II collected RS 7.14 billion income tax during the first quarter of the current year which is almost 10 percent more than the same period of the last year.

The source said the RTO-II collected Rs 6.88 billion sales tax during July-September of current fiscal year which is almost 32 percent more than the same period of last year.

On the other hand, Rs 70 million federal excise duty (FED) was collected, which is 23 percent more than the last year’s first quarter.

To expand the tax net, the RTO-II has brought almost 1,400 new taxpayers in the tax net during the first quarter of the current fiscal
year.
