Indian wool exports likely to miss target for 2016-17

FBR seeks explanation from CCs who failed to achieve revenue collection target

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) sought written explanation from the chief commissioners who were failed to achieve the revenue collection target set for the Financial Year 2017-18, it is learnt here.

Sources told Customs Today that the Board has written letters providing comparison of achieved revenue against the assigned target and budgetary targets to those chief commissioners of Regional Tax Offices who were failed to get the revenue target while the board also sought from chief commissioners the reasons behind the low progress and not achieving the target for FY 2017-18.

Sources added that the board also stated in the letters that the budget for Financial Year 2018-19 of the RTOs is assigned as per the performance of the RTOs while further necessary action will be depended upon the response received from chief commissioners.

Meanwhile, sources also said that some RTOs figures have discrepancies which need clarification.
