FBR seizes over two dozen vehicles in Rs26b Bahria Town tax dispute

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) Large Taxpayer Office (LTO) Islamabad has initiated a major enforcement action in its Rs26 billion tax recovery case involving Bahria Town, sources said on Sunday.

According to insiders, the LTO has confiscated more than two dozen vehicles and motorcycles worth millions of rupees from Bahria Town as part of its ongoing efforts to recover outstanding dues.

Officials confirmed that the seized vehicles will be auctioned once legal formalities are completed, with the proceeds to be deposited in the national exchequer.

Sources added that this is not the first recovery step taken by the tax authority. In an earlier operation, the FBR auctioned a plot on Club Road owned by Bahria Town, raising Rs2.5 billion for the national treasury.

The latest action signals the FBR’s intensified drive to enforce tax compliance and recover large-scale outstanding liabilities from prominent taxpayers.
