FBR serves notices on 115 politicians including Imran, Ayaz

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued notices to over 115 politicians picked up for audit.

According to the details gathered through their National Tax Numbers (NTN) available in the FBR’s tax directories, these politicians include PTI chief Imran Khan, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Law Minister Zahid Hamid and the MQM’s Dr Farooq Sattar.

Sources said that there is a big difference between Imran Khan’s declared income/assets and the amount of money paid in taxes. Details published in the tax directories of the last two years show that Imran paid a total tax of Rs194,936 in 2013 and Rs21,8237 in 2014. However, he paid only Rs76,244 as tax in 2015 which is less by Rs141,993 as compared to the last year.
