ISLAMABAD: The FBR has decided to apply provisions of the Customs Act 1969 relating to the customs computerised system at various customs stations.
According to a notification issued by the Federal Board of Revenue, the provisions of Chapter XVI-A of the Customs Act shall apply to different customs-stations falling under jurisdiction of the Model Customs Collectorates of Karachi.
The Chapter XVI-A of the Customs Act 1969 is related to the customs computerised system and audit/examination of records and access to documents, etc. The provisions of this chapter would apply to any customs station equipped with the customs computerised system.
The names of the customs stations on which the customs computerised system would be applicable has been specified in the notification.
The customs computerised system would be applicable on M/s Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT), M/s. Modern Terminal Operator (MTO)(Pvt) Ltd, M/s. Qasim Freight Station (QFS), M/s. Pak Shaheen Freight Station (PFS) and M/s. Fast Track Projects and Logistics (Pvt) Limited Container Freight Station, Karachi.
These customs stations fall within the jurisdiction of Model Customs Collector, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Karachi and Model Customs Collectorate, Exports, Karachi. The customs computerised system would be applicable on these customs stations from September 23, 2011.
The customs computerised system would be applicable on M/s Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) and M/s. Karachi International container Terminal (KICT) falling within the jurisdiction of Model Customs Collectorate, PaCCS, Karachi.
