FBR sets up facilitation centres to help traders file tax returns: Dr Irshad

LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue has set up tax facilitation centres in different markets to help traders file tax returns.

Member Inland Revenue Operations Dr Muhammad Irshad said this during a meeting with the tax lawyers at the Tax House, Lahore. He said that the revenue officials will help the taxpayers file the income tax returns by hand and online.

Lahore Tax Bar Association (LTBA) President Farhan Shehzad has also assured the Federal Board of Revenue of the lawyers’ cooperation in achieving the revenue targets.

The Member Operations also visited Regional Tax Office-I, Regional Tax Office-II and Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU). Dr Irshad discussed has directed the revenue officials to put maximum efforts in meeting the targets. He also directed the officers to focus on broadening of tax base.

Those who attended the meeting included Large Taxpayer Unit Chief Commissioner Chaudhry Safdar Hussain, Corporate Regional Tax Office Chief Commissioner Tasneem Rehman and RTO-II Chief Commissioner Khawaja Adnan Zaheer. A large number of tax lawyers and chartered accountants and representatives of different companies, including Asim Zulfiqar from AF Furgoson Company, Kamran Iqbal and Attiq-ur-Rehman from KPMG Teseer Hadi Company, Naeem Akhtar Sheikh from UHY Hassan Naeem Company, Rana Muhammad Usman Khan from Yousaf Adil Saleem Company, Muhammad Awais from Earnest Young Ford Company, Zeeshan Chishti from Grant Tharonton Company, Jalil Awan from Ehsan Company, Muhammad Saqib from Qadeer Company and Amin Butt from Amin Mudassar Company also participated in the meeting.

Later, Member Operation Dr Muhammad Irshad planted a tree in the ground of Regional Tax Office.
