They said that 12,000 taxpayers had paid a hefty amount of Rs 2.6 billion tax under the Tax Amnesty Scheme but could not get the benefit due to problems in the online system of the Federal Board of Revenue on the last day of Tax Amnesty Scheme.

“That is not the fault of the taxpayers therefore they should be facilitated by the Federal Board of Revenue”, the LCCI office-bearers said and added that the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FT) has also issued a judgement in this regard to facilitate the taxpayers.

The LCCI office-bearers said that the business community has paid a heavy financial cost to the COVID-19 outbreak but despite various challenges, it has played a crucial role to get the economy out of crisis.

Therefore the Federal Board of Revenue should facilitate the taxpayers in every possible way.

They hoped that the Federal Board of Revenue would take prompt action in this regard and facilitate the taxpayers.
