FBR, State Bank to start talks on AIRSD registeration

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to start negotiations with American Internal Revenue Services Department (AIRSD) to get its registration.

Sources told Customs Today that the FBR and banks will be registered with American Internal Revenue Service Department. Sources said that Pakistan wanted to implement American Foreign Accounts Tax Compliance Act for which the government wanted to start talks and finalize the inter-governmental agreement.

Sources said that the Finance Ministry has assigned this important task to the FBR and the State Bank. The ministry sent directives to the heads of these organizations also. Sources told that dozens of countries signed the agreement of American Foreign Accounts Tax Compliance Act.

Sources added that after the agreement from Pakistan, the FBR and all banks will be registered with American Internal Revenue Service Department.
