ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suspended six BS-16 officers deputed at Karachi’s Central Examination Unit (CEU) and Central Appraising Unit (CAU), citing disciplinary proceedings under Rule-5(1) of the Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020.

According to official notifications published in the Gazette of Pakistan, the suspended officers include:

Asadullah, Appraising Officer, CEU

The suspensions are effective immediately and will remain in force until the conclusion of formal disciplinary proceedings. The notifications were issued by Zakir Hussain, Second Secretary (M/HR.C-I), and circulated to relevant customs and administrative offices across Karachi and Islamabad.

Notably, the FBR also cancelled a prior notification (No. 2193-C-III/2025) concerning Mr. Jawad Haider, replacing it with the updated suspension order dated September 19.

This wave of suspensions signals a tightening of internal accountability within Pakistan’s customs operations, especially at high-volume clearance hubs like Karachi.
