ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has taken notice of decrease in withholding tax collections during the last five months (from July to November) and has decided to conduct analysis of 1,000 big withholding agents.
According to sources, the FBR has sent directives to all field formations, stating that the FBR has recorded decrease in the withholding tax revenue from the withholding tax agents during the last five months.
The FBR further added in its directives that the FBR has decided to compare the withholding tax statements with the income tax returns of 1,000 big withholding agents of the country.
Moreover, sources added that the FBR has directed the field formations to monitor revenue collections made under the head of withholding tax.
