FBR taking measures to facilitate business community: Abid Raza Bodla

MULTAN: Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue (IR) Multan Region Abid Raza Bodla listened the grievances of member of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI)in an open kutchehry held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) here.

Chief Commissioner said that we are resolving the problems of traders, industrialists, exporters, manufacturers and business community at their door step as per the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).He said that we have cleared the refunds and all refunds upto Rs70 to 80 million were paid to the claimants. He advised the remaining refund seekers to update their bank accounts and profiles and submit an application regarding any grievance on a simple paper to get redress their grievances. He further advised them to submit all necessary documents with their application to get relief. He assured the improvement of performance and service standards and asked the participants to inform him about any problems in on-line system or ATM registration.

He said that stake holders submitted their tax-returns without any impediment and they heaved a sigh of relief. Participants raised questions about notice served by FBR, Audit of accounts of tax payers, Ease of Doing business, refunds, on-line returns, and amnesty scheme and he patiently answered all questions.

Commissioner Inland Revenue Mrs.Zahida Sarfraz told that RTO Multan was reviewing 176 notices served on traders and we are ready to provide an opportunity of hearing to the traders to resolve their problems. President of MCCI Khawaja Salahuddin said in his welcome address that FBR ,for the first time, set a record by achieving the targets of revenue in the first seven months of current fiscal year which showed a state of confidence and trust between the business community and tax managers.

He said that we would go forwards with the FBR and would support in strengthening this institution. Ex-President Mian Fazal Elahi Sheikh said that tax managers had changed their mindset and behaviour, consequently, they managed to achieve their targets. He stressed the need for compliance of Government’s tax policies. Khalid Hanif Lodhi on the behalf of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) drew the attention of Chief Commissioner towards non-payment of 80 percent refund claims of ginners. Senior Vice President Syed Iftikhar Ali Shah presented a vote of thanks to the guests.

Khawaja Muhammad Yousaf,Khawaja Muhammad Hussain, Imran Ghazi, Deputy Commissioner inland revenue Imran Yousaf, Nadeem Ahmed Sheikh. Azhar Baloch, and Muhammad Shafiq secretary General were among the participants.
