FBR to deduct tax on income drawn from rented buildings

LAHORE: Regional Tax Offices I and II have planned to bring into tax net owners of the buildings rented to private banks, hospitals, departmental stores, according to sources.

Sources said that according to a survey conducted by the Regional Tax Offices of Lahore, most of the owners of the buildings who rented their properties to the banks, hospitals and other such institutions have not been paying their due tax on the income of these buildings.

The RTOs in order to bring the owners of these building into tax net have conducted a survey which showed that many have not shown such income in the returns, the sources disclosed.

They said that the FBR regional offices will soon issue notices to such tax evaders to pay tax on the income, the sources said.
