KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has given approval for amendment in the circular that determines the eligibility criteria of performance allowance. It has been sent to the board council of FBR for the final approval. The selection for performance allowance will be done by the human resource wing. However the evaluation criteria for Grade-17 is interview, Grade-7 to -16 interview and computer literacy, while Grade-1 to -6 will be evaluated on the basis of performance. It has been discussed in the document that 5 panels have been arranged. The chairman FBR has the authority to appoint officials of Grade-21, the appointment of Grade-20 officials will be done by the Grade-21 with panel of 3 officials of higher than 21, officials of Grade-19 will be appointed by Grade-20 with panel of 3 officials higher than Grade-20, Grade-17 -18 will be appointed by the Grade-19 with panel of 3 officials higher than Grade-19 and Grade-1 to -16 will be appointed by the Grade-17 to -18 with 3 officials higher than Grade-17 to -18. The performance allowance will not be given to those who are tax defaulters. The performance allowance will not be given for six months and one year to those who have been punished depending upon the punishment.
