FBR to introduce ‘informers’ protection law’

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue has decided to introduce a law to ensure the security of the informer who will inform the department about any tax evasion, evaders and scams.

As per detail, Tax Reforms Commission (TRC) has also suggested this law to FBR as such laws would encourage the well-wishers of the department.

According to law, any official who would violate the law pertaining to the security of informer will have to face departmental proceedings and might be expelled from job.

In this new law, a reward will be offered to the informer which will be the 11 to 15 percent of the recovered amount. The reward will be given by the high ups of the department to kept the name of well-wisher confidential.
