FBR to set up a new customs dry port at Hub: Tariq Bajwa

KARACHI: Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Tariq Bajwa has announced that a new customs dry port will be set up at Hub in Lasbel district to facilitate industries operating in the area and the district and other parts of Balochistan.

Bajwa disclosed this in a meeting with a delegation of Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He also agreed that the Inland Revenue collected from taxpayers having their business premises in Lasbela district would be accounted for revenue generated from Balochistan irrespective of its collection made anywhere in the country.

The FBR chairman assured the delegation that revenue collection figures from Hub and other parts of Lasbela district would be disclosed so that Balochistan government could assess the potential of tax generation in the area and provide further infrastructure and incentives for industrial progress of the province.

Lasbela Chamber President Ismail Suttar raised the issue of inordinate delay in the issuance of sales tax refund cheques. Bajwa assured to speed up the process for early clearance of outstanding payments.
