FBR to take action against officer using political pressure for transfer

SIALKOT: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan has decided to take action against officers and officials of Pakistan Customs who use political pressure for their transfers and deputations against rules and regulations.

Sources told Customs Today  that the chairman has intimated it has been clearly mentioned in the FBR service book that using  of any political pressure and illegal means for transfer and posting is illegal work and punishable under relevant clause. Sources told that after the three months of financial year 2017-18 the officials of Customs Department has started various means for deputations and transfers through political tactics.

Sources told that to thwart this attempt the FBR has appointed honest persons on high position in department to control such attempts of illegal means. FBR chairman said that this step has been taken to further improve the efficiency of the department and bring honest persons to the top position to make the right decision at right time.

Many officers and officials must try for their transfers and deputation after three months passing of financial years because the real work start after three months. He said some black sheeps try for transfer and deputation whereas FBR has taken strict action and transfers would be on merit and routine basis whereas the chairman is not bothering the political pressure for the purpose of transfer and deputation.
